Forest crafts club

Today we spent our club building dens.  They were all sorts of shapes and sizes, we even decorated them so they had chairs, kettles and tables!

We had a very relaxing forest craft club tonight.  We made recycled planters.  Rayan came up with the idea and we collected milk cartons and plastic bottles.  After we had washed them, we decorated them with natural materials that we found in the forest.  When they are finished we will use them as little planters to hang around the school grounds.

Meet the forest family! Today we made the forest family, we used sticks and potato peelers to make lots of stick people.  We even gave some of them hair and Pom Poms! We then hid them all around our edible playground, we can’t wait for the other children to be surprised when they find them
What a glorious afternoon forest craft club have had today. We took advantage of our beautiful school grounds and used our surroundings as inspiration for our amazing watercolour paintings.

Finally a dry afternoon for our club!  We decided that because the weather has been so unseasonably grey, wet and cold that we would like to brighten up the outside area.  We used willow to make our very own dream catchers.  They certainly make the playground more colourful.

We were all feeling the love today in forest craft club.  We started by talking about how much our friends meant to us. Zara had a fantastic idea to make a friendship tree, so we drew pictures of our favourite friends on our love hearts.  Then we wrote why they were our friends on the back.  After we had laminated the hearts we strung them on wool spider webs in the trees.

It might have been a rainy start for our forest crafts club but we didn’t let that dampen our enthusiasm.  We collected leaves, twigs, flowers and herbs from the forest and used them to make our very own crowns.  Aren’t they amazing!
