Return to school

Since our return to school, we have been looking at the picture book ‘Windows’ by Julia Denos. We have thought about how  we belong in our community, and what we think our classroom community should contain. This has helped to create our Y6 classroom display.

We have written some fantastic poetry after reading ‘I am angry’ by Michael Rosen and listening to Reviere by Debussy.

In maths, we have played loges of games to help us work with decimals - we are very competitive but we have made lots of progress.

We have also enjoyed some yoga in PE and some weaving in forest school.

Our class novel at the moment is ‘The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates’ by Jenny Pearson, which is also our teacher’s name! It is really making us giggle!

We have also been looking closely at art this half term - we really enjoyed our art week. We have been exploring  both sketching and watercolour paint. We used Windows as our inspiration and produced some fantastic city-scapes. We explored outdoor art as well. Using natural objects to create autumnal scenes linked to harvest.
