School Council

A Hawthorn pupil's voice is highly regarded within our school. One of the ways pupils can express their ideas is via the School Council.

The School Council meet fortnightly to share and discuss views.

Each class across the age ranges, starting from Year 1 through to Year 6, have two main representatives that have been elected by their peers.

What Do We Do?

Members of the Council take part in discussions and votes and also feedback on any relevant information to their class. At times they are requested to ask their class for ideas or take class votes relating to discussions by the Council.

Members meet regularly with Mrs Fullard and Mrs Dube to discuss ways in which they feel they can influence the school for the better. These may be ideas to improve playtimes, after-school clubs, lessons or charities they want to support through fund-raising activities.
