The Building Blocks Schools Challenge was part of a Building Blocks STEM day where the Year 5 children visited Newcastle Helix and took part in a range of STEM activities. They also got the chance to meet and interview people working in STEM careers. The challenge was to build a 'building of the future' using sustainable materials. 

Two people from award-winning Ryder Architecture formed part of the Schools Challenge judging panel this year, and they chose Fatima's design as their special winner. This means Lewis and Grace from Ryder will now begin creating a 3D model of Fatima's building of the future. They will deliver it in the Autumn term and also visit the Ryder office in Newcastle.
