Since 2025, we have been proud to be a Rekenrek 101 Ambassador School, reflecting our commitment to developing strong mathematical understanding across the school. Rekenreks are an integral part of daily maths lessons and are used consistently from the earliest years through to the older classes to support number sense, fluency and confidence. These simple yet powerful mathematical tools help children visualise numbers, develop efficient calculation strategies and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts. Our pupils love using rekenreks because they make maths practical, engaging and accessible, while staff value them as an effective resource for promoting mathematical discussion and reasoning.
