We are working hard in Phonics to prepare for the Phonics Screening Check. We are practicing phonics at home using Seesaw. If you have any questions about this, please come and speak to Miss Calladine.
We are writing information texts to inform others about amazing animals. We're starting with Emperor penguins.
We are continuing to perfect our sentences with capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. We are beginning to use exclamation marks and question marks. We are reading our work outloud in a loud and clear voice.
Maths
We are learning to count in multiples of 1, 2, 5 and 10.
We will learn how to create and add equal groups.
We found ladybirds with 1, 2, 5 or 10 spots on the meadow. We worked in groups to count in multiples to find how many spots altogether.
PE
Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Please can children wear suitable shoes for PE on those days.
We are learning Net and Wall skills, and we are learning how to begin Attacking and Defending.
Science
We are learning about animals, including humans. We are learning the different between mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.
We had a visit from Norman the Tortoise and Bert the African Land Snail. We studied and compared them.
