Parent Support Worker
Job Summary
Hawthorn Primary School is seeking a caring, proactive, and motivated Parent Support Advisor to join our school team. This role plays a vital part in supporting parents and carers to engage positively with school life, overcome barriers, and strengthen outcomes for children and families.
Working closely with school staff, families, and partner agencies, you will provide practical and emotional support to parents, helping them to build confidence, develop skills, and access appropriate services. This is a rewarding role within a nurturing primary school environment that places children and families at the heart of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Support parents to engage in their children’s learning and development
- Deliver targeted parenting support, including advice, workshops, and signposting
- Work with families to improve attendance
- Build partnerships with schools and external agencies to coordinate support
- Contribute to Early Help Plans and multi-agency approaches
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local services to enable effective referrals
- Gather feedback and data to evaluate impact and improve services
- Provide administrative support, record keeping, and respond to enquiries
- Promote equality, inclusion, and safeguarding in all aspects of work
